Patna: The Incubation Centre (IC) of IIT-Patna has launched an awareness and mobilisation drive in Gaya to connect grassroots entrepreneurs with institutional support, enterprise development opportunities and business assistance under the SBI Foundation-LEAP: GramPro initiative.The programme was held at the Belaganj Training and Learning Centre of Jeevika, where prospective beneficiaries were introduced to the GramPro project and its potential to address challenges faced by emerging rural enterprises.Jeevika’s Gaya district project manager Achreya Mamat and SBI Foundation assistant manager Vaishanavi Shikha addressed the participants. Pramod Kumar Tiwari, professor in charge and secretary, IC IIT-Patna, delivered the keynote address, stressing the need to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and create sustainable opportunities for enterprise development.A detailed presentation on the SBIF LEAP-GramPro project was made by Deepti Anand, executive programmes, IC IIT-Patna. This was followed by a business diagnostics and question-and-answer session, during which participants discussed their enterprise-related problems and support requirements.The programme is significant as rural entrepreneurs often face difficulties in accessing mentoring, finance, markets, technology and institutional guidance. The organisers said the initiative seeks to bridge such gaps by facilitating direct engagement with prospective beneficiaries.
