Six people are missing after a Gulfstream G100 jet traveling from Bermuda to Boston lost contact with air traffic controllers early Saturday, triggering a Coast Guard search off the coast of Nantucket.The aircraft, carrying six people, was flying toward Boston when it disappeared from radar, with the US Coast Guard launching air and surface crews to search for the plane, the New York Post reported, citing Coast Guard and flight-tracking information.The Coast Guard said it was notified that contact with the aircraft had been lost and that crews from Air Station Cape Cod, US Coast Guard Station Brant Point in Nantucket and the USCGC William Sparling were involved in the search.Flight-tracking data showed the Gulfstream G100, identified by tail number CGRJP, was traveling from Bermuda to Boston. The aircraft reportedly dropped from about 23,500 feet to 11,000 feet within three minutes before its final radar signal was recorded near Nantucket.The plane was scheduled to arrive in Boston early Saturday. Its final known position was off the coast of Nantucket, according to flight-tracking data.“Air & surface crews have launched in search of the aircraft. Updates will be provided here as info becomes available,” the Coast Guard Northeast District said in a post on X.The Coast Guard has not released further details about the six people aboard or what may have caused the aircraft to lose contact.
