Prepare DPR of Ram Janaki Marg within a week: Minister

Patna: Road construction minister Kumar Shailendra on Saturday directed officials to prepare and submit the detailed project report (DPR) of the 146-km Mashrakh-Chakia-Bhithamore stretch of NH-227 and NH-227A, also known as Ram Janaki Marg, within a week, while setting strict timelines for DPRs and technical procedures for several other important highway projects in Bihar.During a high-level review meeting, Shailendra directed officials to expedite the approval process for projects and reduce delays in starting construction works.For package II of the Darbhanga-Jayanagar project on NH-527B, the minister directed officials to prepare the DPR at the earliest and submit it to the competent authority for approval.He also reviewed the 89-km Arwal-Biharsharif stretch of NH-33, formerly known as NH-110, from km 0 to km 89. Officials were directed to complete its DPR and other technical processes within the stipulated time frame.The minister stressed that DPR preparation and approval should not become a bottleneck for major road and bridge projects.
