Sasaram: A 25-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Bichli Gali under Suryapura police station area in Rohtas district late Tuesday night. Police said he had accused his wife and in-laws of harassment in a video recorded shortly before his death.The deceased, Krishna Seth, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room. Before taking the extreme step, he recorded a nearly three-minute video in which he blamed his wife, mother-in-law and other members of her family for his distress.Police said Krishna had sent the video to several relatives shortly before his death. The video has since circulated on social media, though its authenticity and the allegations made in it are yet to be independently verified.In the video, Krishna allegedly claimed that his wife frequently stayed at her parental home and that whenever he went to bring her back, he was assaulted by her and other members of her family. He alleged that the incidents had caused him humiliation and mental distress.He also expressed concern for his two-year-old daughter and said his brother should take care of her. Krishna further stated that his wife should not receive any share of his property and that his assets should go to his mother, Shanti Devi.Acting on information about the incident, Suryapura SHO Anamika Sudha reached the spot. The body was sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team also visited the scene and collected evidence.Police said a case has been registered on the complaint of Krishna’s mother, and the allegations mentioned in the video are being examined as part of the investigation.Bikramganj SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh said the matter was under investigation. The deceased’s in-laws are residents of Sikarour village in Buxar district.
