Patna: The internal rift in the JD(U) over the Patna Graduates’ legislative council election widened on Friday with Mokama MLA Anant questioning health minister Nishant Kumar’s campaign for party candidate Neeraj Kumar.Anant, who opposes Neeraj’s candidature, has been campaigning for Jan Suraaj candidate Anuj Kumar Singh through roadshows. “Nishant should not have campaigned for Neeraj Kumar. Sometimes he is taken to Barh, sometimes some other places, but there are few people to support him,” Anant said, claiming he would “medically treat” Neeraj in the election.The six-time MLA said he supported former CM Nitish Kumar but backed Anuj for the Patna Graduates’ seat. In a viral video, Anant also claimed he had arranged the murder of nine persons for his leader, a claim trashed by JD(U) MLA Shyam Rajak.Neeraj hit back, saying Anant was nervous over Nishant’s growing popularity and warned him to “remain within his limit”.
