Patna: The education department officials on Wednesday inspected 700 model schools across Bihar, including 32 in Patna district, to review infrastructure, classroom teaching and facilities available to students.Nodal officials assigned to the schools assessed improvements made under the Saraswati Vidya Niketan model and reviewed academic activities, resource availability and their utilisation. They also identified areas requiring improvement in the teaching and learning process.According to the education department, officials evaluated the Bihar School Live Classes coaching programme being conducted in the schools to help students prepare for competitive examinations. The exercise aimed to determine whether the facilities and reforms introduced in model schools were being effectively used.Parent-teacher meetings were also organised during the inspection. Parents and teachers discussed students’ academic progress, studies and other educational activities. Nodal officers interacted with parents and encouraged their participation in supporting children’s education.The department has now decided that designated nodal officers will inspect their respective schools every week. Officials said regular monitoring would help sustain improvements in infrastructure and academic activities while ensuring better utilisation of student facilities.
