Patna: A 42-year-old career consultant was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a canal at Pakri under Karja police station area of Muzaffarpur district on Saturday. The victim, identified as Rahul Thakur, was a resident of Patahi Vishwanath village and was living in a rented house in Patna. Rahul had recently visited his native village.The circumstances surrounding his death have raised several questions. Bloodstains were found inside his locked car, along with a blade, while a cut injury mark was noticed near his left wrist. Police said they are probing the case from a possible murder angle.According to police, Rahul’s car was parked beside the canal road and was locked when investigators reached the spot. Bloodstains were found on the steering wheel and seat. A blade, slippers, personal belongings and documents were recovered from the vehicle.“We are trying to determine how Rahul sustained the wrist injury, whether it caused significant blood loss, and if it is linked to his death. Police are also examining whether the bloodstains inside the car are connected to the injury,” said Rural SP Rajesh Singh Prabhakar.He said Rahul had recently visited his native village. He worked as a career consultant, helping students secure admissions to medical colleges. Police have also received information about a possible financial dispute related to monetary transactions linked to his professional activities.“We received information about a body lying in the canal and immediately sent a police team to the spot. A car was found parked near the canal. It was locked, and bloodstains were noticed on the steering wheel and seat. A blade, slippers and documents were also recovered from inside,” the SP said.A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also visited the spot and collected samples. The bloodstains recovered from the vehicle were being examined as part of the investigation. Police have not ruled out any possibility, including murder, and were investigating the financial dispute angle along with other circumstances surrounding the death.
