Madhubani: An awareness programme on preventing sexual harassment of women at the workplace and safeguarding their legal rights was held at the Madhubani court complex on Saturday. The event was organised under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge PawanKumarPandey and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary Sachin Kumar.Addressing participants, the judge stressed the need to ensure a dignified, respectful and safe work environment for women. He said clear mechanisms exist for lodging complaints and initiating action in cases of sexual harassment, and urged judicial officers, advocates and court staff to deal with women’s rights issues with sensitivity and responsibility.He said greater awareness was needed to help women understand the legal protections available to them and the channels through which grievances can be raised. DLSA representatives informed participants about free legal aid services and explained the process of filing complaints.Other judges of the Madhubani court, members of the Bar and court staff attended the programme. Organisers said the initiative aimed to promote a culture of respect in workplaces and strengthen awareness about legal safeguards against harassment. The programme was part of ongoing efforts to enhance gender sensitivity and reinforce institutional mechanisms for women’s safety.
