Patna: A five-member delegation of Myanmar Army visited Bihar Regimental Centre (BRC) at Danapur cantonment here on Wednesday to strengthen interaction, professional exchange and training cooperation between the two armies.During the visit, the delegation held discussions with senior military officials and met the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Jharkhand and Bihar Sub Area, Major General Jitendra Singh. The officers were briefed on BRC’s recruit training philosophy, training methodology, institutional practices and physical conditioning, according to a senior BRC official.The delegation will remain at the centre till Oct 9 to gain first-hand exposure to the integrated military training process.The Myanmar team reviewed training systems used to prepare soldiers, including the emphasis on discipline, physical fitness, leadership development and overall military grooming.BRC officials said the engagement would facilitate professional exchange on contemporary aspects of military training and help build closer professional bonds and mutual understanding between the two armies.As part of the visit, members of the Myanmar delegation and Indian Army officials jointly planted saplings on the regimental premises.Earlier, the delegation also called on Governor Syed Ata Hasnain at Lok Bhavan during their visit to Bihar. The interaction was part of the broader initiative to enhance mutual understanding and promote professional ties between the armed forces of the two neighbouring countries.Describing the Myanmar Army visit as an opportunity for exchange of experiences and best practices in military training, a senior army officer of BRC said that it would strengthen the long-standing bonds of friendship between Myanmar Army and Indian Army in the days to come.
