Buxar: A dandiya night billed as “Buxar’s biggest dandiya night” has landed its organisers in trouble, with police registering an FIR against five named persons and others over alleged obscene content and performances during the event.The programme was held on Sunday (Oct 4) at a banquet hall in Buxar and was promoted as a family-friendly Navratri celebration featuring dandiya, garba, music and entertainment. However, alleged objectionable performances and content during the event triggered concerns among residents and prompted police intervention. On Tuesday, an FIR was registered at Town police station against five named persons and others. Police are also examining the role of other individuals associated with the organisation and conduct of the programme.Buxar SDPO Gaurav Pandey said the allegations were being examined and further action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.The police action comes amid increased monitoring of festive events in the district. The SDPO said organisers of public events must comply with prescribed rules and ensure that programmes maintain public decency and do not create any law-and-order problem.
