Health dept to launch recruitment drive for 11k posts soon, notification likely by month-end

Patna: The health department is set to launch a major recruitment drive to fill more than 11,000 administrative, technical and medical support posts, with an official notification likely to be issued in the last week of Nov, State Health Society, Bihar (SHSB) executive director Naval Kishor Choudhary said on Wednesday.According to an official release, preparations for the recruitment process are in the final stages and a detailed recruitment calendar will be issued after receiving the necessary approvals. The SHSB is currently collecting updated vacancy data from all 38 districts, including district hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, primary health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs).The first phase of the recruitment drive will cover posts such as staff nurses, laboratory technicians, block health managers (BHMs), managerial personnel, non-medical establishment (NME) staff and clerical employees. Recruitment for remaining categories will be taken up in the second phase, Choudhary said.He said the appointments would strengthen healthcare services across the state by addressing manpower shortages at health facilities from the district to the panchayat level. Additional support staff would also help improve the functioning of doctors and paramedical personnel, particularly in rural and remote areas. The recruitment is expected to ease staff shortages in district and sub-divisional hospitals, reduce the workload on existing personnel and improve patient care. Adequate deployment of nurses and laboratory technicians would help ensure timely diagnostic services, while the appointment of BHMs and clerical staff would improve the implementation and monitoring of govt health schemes.Choudhary said the recruitment calendar has nearly been finalised and will be released after formal approval. The department aims to complete the entire process, including selection, document verification and issuance of appointment letters, within six to seven months of the notification being released.
