Patna: More than 100 of the 130 flood- and rain-damaged locations identified on the 145-km NHAI road network in Patna district have been repaired, with work in progress at the remaining 30 spots, the district administration said.According to the district administration’s communique, 130 locations on NHAI roads were marked for repairs after floods and excessive rainfall, and repairs at 100 of these have been completed.Under the rural works department, 166 locations were identified in the Barh division, where repairs have been completed at five spots covering around 1.6 km. In Patna West, 43 of 96 locations have been repaired. Five flood-damaged roads spanning about 4.9 km are also being restored to motorable condition.In Paliganj, six of 73 identified locations have been repaired, covering more than 2 km. Both locations identified in Danapur have been repaired, while six of 11 locations in Masaurhi have been completed.The road construction department has also undertaken repair work at several locations. In the New Capital Road division, 72 of 355 identified locations have been repaired. In Patna West, eight of 129 locations have been completed, covering around 7 km. All four locations identified in the Patna City Road division have also been repaired, covering around 1.5 km.Patna district magistrate Kundan Kumar directed executive engineers to expedite the remaining work and complete it within the stipulated time frame. He also asked officials to conduct regular field inspections and ensure the quality of repairs, saying restoring roads damaged by floods and heavy rain to motorable condition was a priority.
