Patna: With bus and train tickets unavailable, a group of three men from Delhi took an unusual route to reach home before Diwali and Chhath. They allegedly set out on an approximately 1,200-km journey to Madhubani in an autorickshaw, hoping to celebrate the festival with their families after missing it for a couple of years.Rishav Thakur, who documented parts of this journey on social media, first shared a video of the unusual road trip around a week ago. The videos have since drawn attention on social media, with users appreciating the group’s determination to make it home for the festival.Explaining their decision in one of the videos, Rishav said, “We couldn’t get train tickets, so we made our own plan: let’s take our own auto and go home. It took us around 38 hours to complete the journey.”The group packed the vehicle with luggage and essentials for the road trip. In one video, Rishav is seen taking a break with his companions to eat ‘rotis’ they had carried along. He said they stopped for around 20 minutes before resuming the journey, also allowing the vehicle to cool down. The videos have prompted mixed reactions. A traffic police officer questioned how an autorickshaw can ply on national highways. However, some social media users are also questioning the authenticity of the videos, as three-wheelers are not allowed on national highways.“He is lying, this is a fake video because there is no order to operate autos on national highways,” commented a socia media user, its_nit_esh__5040; while another user, ig_krishna_2k4, commented, “Bhaii 3 saal ke baad ap gaye ho acche se enjoy karo or video daal dena Chhath ghar ka.”While many praised their determination, some users also raised concerns about the safety of undertaking such a long interstate journey in an autorickshaw and advised them to take adequate precautions.
