Patna: The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (Biada) on Saturday approved allotment of 9.14 acres of industrial land and plug-and-play sheds to 12 industrial units. The proposed units are expected to bring an investment of Rs 132.60 crore and generate around 2,500 jobs.The approvals were given at a Project Clearance Committee (PCC) meeting chaired by Biada managing director Naveen Kumar. The proposed units would be set up in Patna, Buxar, Muzaffarpur, West Champaran, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Madhubani, Aurangabad and Saharsa.Officials said the allotment of industrial plots along with plug-and-play facilities would help investors set up and operationalise their units faster by providing ready industrial infrastructure.Industry minister Shreyasi Singh, through an official press release, said the new projects would strengthen Bihar’s industrial and technological growth while creating employment and skill-based opportunities for local youth. She said the govt was working to create an investor-friendly ecosystem and position Bihar as a modern industrial and manufacturing hub.

The Biada managing director said the authority was allotting industrial land through a transparent and time-bound process. “Along with industrial plots, we are ensuring better infrastructure, connectivity, simplified procedures and policy support so that projects can be implemented quickly and effectively,” he said.
